Cultivating Belonging at BC High
At BC High, our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and (DEI) is central to our Jesuit mission of forming young men for others. We strive to create an environment where all students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and trustees feel valued, respected, and empowered.
We recognize the strength of our community’s diversity—across race, ethnicity, culture, gender, socioeconomic background, and belief—and embrace it as a vital element of our educational experience. Diversity is not only a moral imperative but a strategic advantage that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Our DEI work focuses on creating an inclusive environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all individuals. Through equity, we remove barriers and ensure everyone has the resources and opportunities to succeed. Through belonging, we build a community where all feel connected and invested in BC High’s mission.
This work requires ongoing commitment across all levels of the institution. We will continue to develop policies, programs, and practices that promote cultural competence, address systemic inequities, and celebrate diverse experiences. Our goal is to build a BC High where all individuals, regardless of background, can thrive.
By embedding DEI principles into our institution, we encourage all members of our community to engage in meaningful conversations, explore intersectional identities, and collaborate toward a shared vision of belonging. Together, we will strengthen our community, advance the Jesuit values of justice and service, and empower each individual to become an agent of positive change in the world.
