The league game will be free to the public and feature a variety of family-friendly activities including a “pitch-fast” station in the batting cage for fans and a 50/50 raffle.
BC High Athletic Director Jon Bartlett is proud of what the partnership represents: “We are thrilled to have two great teams from the Cape Cod Baseball League playing on our field, including the defending champions – the Wareham Gatemen. People come from across New England, and even throughout the country, to see the CCBL. Now they’ll have an opportunity to watch a Cape League game right here in Boston. I want to thank the Wareham Gatemen, in particular, General Manager Andrew Lang, for seeing the benefit to play this game off-Cape. It has been a pleasure to work with him to make this game a reality.”
President Grace Cotter Regan is excited not only the BC High community, but for Dorchester and beyond. “Hosting a Cape Cod Baseball League game is a fantastic opportunity for our students and their families. But, from the beginning, we were passionate about the idea that this would be a free event – open and welcome to everyone in our community. We’re committed to this city. We have a world-class field in Monan Park, and we want to be able to share the wonderful opportunities available at BC High with as many people as possible. I’m looking forward to the game!”
