L&W Report – Exec Summary L&W Full ReportThe Board of Trustees of BC High is committed to implementing the best practices of nonprofit governance and leadership. Our strategic deliberations are conducted with guidance from outside experts, peer schools and relevant membership organizations, including:
Last year, BC High went through a process known as “Sponsorship Review”. Every five years the Society of Jesus asks us to conduct a Mission Examen entailing a year of self-study and reflection. Through this review, the Jesuits asked us to articulate the fidelity of our promise to our families and students. We were asked to state the case for our mission and Ignatian identity. It is a powerful opportunity for collaboration and interaction between our departments, our students and their parents, and our alumni.
It has been a time to focus particularly on the Ignatian concept, of being “contemplatives in action”. Sponsorship Review will require a great deal of reflection that we will use to improve and strengthen our community, moving us closer together and closer to God. It is an incredible time of hope and promise for our community.
Working at Boston College High School means joining a dynamic community of educators and staff, committed to forming young men into compassionate and caring citizens of the world. Our administrators, faculty, staff, and coaches are deeply invested in our mission, and find being a part of this community rewarding, both professionally and personally.
